Sharing the clip on X (formerly Twitter), he joked that he was "against bureaucracy back then too," highlighting that his views have been consistent for years.
In the 22-year-old video, a young Ramaswamy addresses his graduating class at St. Xavier High School in Ohio.
Reflecting on his high school journey, he admits mixed feelings about graduating, saying, "It is better to travel than it is to arrive," quoting a literary reference from his English class.
He expressed a desire to slow down and enjoy the final moments of high school before crossing the finish line.
Ramaswamy, a Cincinnati native, was a nationally-ranked tennis player and the valedictorian of his class.
